INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Digonex) January 28, 2010 – Indianapolis-based pricing software developer Digonex Technologies, Inc., today announced that that the Cleveland Cavaliers will be the first sports franchise to leverage its Sports & Entertainment Analytical Ticketing System (SEATS), which was launched in November 2009.
While sports teams and franchises have traditionally used a tiered-pricing structure, which is set at the beginning of a season, unexpected factors throughout the season are causing teams and franchises to evaluate alternative ticket pricing structures and technologies that enable them to demonstrate their commitment to the fans.
SEATS is a fully automated commerce engine that analyzes sales data and provides price suggestions based upon econometric and behavioral principles. SEATS takes a customizable approach, making use of dozens of parameters to evaluate ticket sales and offer price recommendations.
“Our technology helps sports franchises stay in sync with an ever-changing marketplace and provides a fair-to-all pricing solution that benefits both sports teams and fans,” said Jan Eglen, Ph.D, CEO for Digonex. “We are thrilled to be working with the Cavaliers to help them understand how our technology can positively impact the franchise and extend loyalty to their fans.”
“We are excited to be working with Digonex on this initiative,” said Mike Tomon, vice president of ticket sales & service for the Cavaliers. “With the SEATS system in place, The Cavaliers organization will offer a value-based pricing system driven by fan demand in the market.”
SEATS will perform an analysis on fan based pricing structure for single games and will make instant price recommendations to the Cavaliers for selected games and other Arena events. Digonex plans to begin working with the Cavaliers following the All-Star break.

PITTSBURGH, PA (ShowClix) January 27, 2010 – ShowClix (www.showclix.com) - a full-service ticketing company that provides web-based solutions to event organizers, promoters and venue managers - today introduced ShowClix Axess, an application created for the Google Android operating system that transforms Android-powered devices, including Google Nexus One, Motorola Droid and HTC myTouch, into barcode ticket scanners. While Axess runs on most Android-powered devices with an autofocus camera, ShowClix is providing its ticketing clients with Axess-ready, Nexus One devices exclusively.
“Axess is the product of years of frustration with the existing barcode scanning options that have been available to our clients. The introduction of Axess and our new ticket scanners carries the innovation of our web-based platform to the door of the venue,” says ShowClix CEO Joshua Dziabiak. “Our new ticket scanners aren’t just easy-to-use and affordable, they’re also packed with features that give our clients more flexibility and control over the way they admit ticket buyers into their events. Venues and event promoters finally have a better option when it comes to barcode scanning.”
Android-powered devices provisioned with ShowClix Axess can verify tickets online in real-time by connecting to any wi-fi or cellular network. If a wi-fi or cellular network is not available, or the device loses connection to a network, users can continue to scan and verify tickets offline. Multiple ticket scanners running Axess can be used at several check-in points at a venue without having to be networked. In less than two seconds per scan, the devices can read both 1D and 2D barcodes appearing on thermal tickets, print-at-home e-tickets or mobile tickets. In addition to quickly scanning tickets for entry into an event, Axess scanners also provide users with a “checkout mode” that allows them to scan tickets in and out of an event for re-entry. Axess devices also include search functionality that lets users obtain detailed customer information directly from the ticket scanner. Customer information can be retrieved through the application’s voice recognition search feature or by manually inputting details such as the customer name, confirmation ID or barcode number.
Joker Productions (www.jokerprod.com), a Pittsburgh-based production company that has been booking and promoting concerts since 1989, was one of the first companies to use the new Axess-powered, Nexus One ticket scanner. “The scanner has worked very well,” says Joker Productions Founder Jon Rinaldo. “We’ve even had a number of customers comment on how cool and cutting edge the scanner is. I’m happy to be partnered with a company like ShowClix. Not only are they helping my company stay ahead of the curve, but they’re developing tools that help out the ticketing and concert industries as a whole.”
In conjunction with the launch of Axess, ShowClix is giving away two free Axess-powered, Nexus One ticket scanners to the first five qualified venues or event promoters that enter into an exclusive ticketing agreement with ShowClix. To learn more about the ticket scanner giveaway, or the ShowClix Axess Android application, visit www.showclix.com/axess or contact Lynsie Camuso atlynsie@showclix.com or 724.653.6903 ext. 301.
About the company: ShowClix is a Pittsburgh-based ticketing company that provides organizers, promoters and venue managers with full-service ticketing solutions that allow them to sell event tickets online, over the telephone or at their box office through a web-based point-of-sale system. The next-generation ticketing solution is completely customizable; offers more features and flexibility than larger competitors; gives clients real-time control of customer information and sales reports; offers some of the lowest service fees in the industry; and costs absolutely nothing to use.
