Continuing a streak that began in 2003, Fenway Park will once again be the site of a big time musical event this summer. On August 23 Neil Diamond will play a show there as part of his upcoming world tour.
In 2003 the Boston Red Sox were taken over by new ownership and since then two musical events have taken place at Fenway Park each year. In 2003 Bruce Springsteen played there followed by Jimmy Buffett in 2004. 2005 was the year for the Rolling Stones when it was on its Bigger Bang world tour. 2006 brought Fenway Dave Matthews Band.
2008 is the twelveth straight year that Neil Diamonds hit song “Sweet Caroline” has been played during Red Sox home games. For the past seven years it has been a fixture during the middle of the 8th inning.
The Broadway play Legally Blonde, which is a make off of the Reese Witherspoon movie, will officially hit the road beginning on September 23, 2008 in Providence, RI at the Providence Performing Arts Center. The tour will last one year and end up in Costa Mesa, CA on September 20, 2009.
Tony Award winning director who has directed the play on broadway will also be the productions road director. The show has been a consistant fixture on the list of top broadway shows. Casting will be announce shortly and stay tune for more tour stops.

On deck for this summers music tour season is a triple play tour with legendary groups, Cheap Trick, Journey, and Heart. The tour will officially kick off at Fidderl’s Green in Denver, CO and will wind down on October 4 at Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque, NM. The groups will be stopping in 48 cities to play 49 shows.
Journey who is led by Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory, Deen Castronovo and Arnel Pineda will be promoting the June 3 release of their 3 CD/DVD titled, Revelation. Journey is known for their song, “Don’t Stop Believing”. This song was the theme song for the Chicago White Sox World Series Win in 2005.
Heart was a popular rock group in the 1970’s. They are composed of sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson and feature a mix or hard rock and folk music. In total they have sold over 30 million albums and produced 20 top 40 songs. A couple of those hit songs include, Baracuda and What About Love?
Cheap Trick have been performing for over 30 years and 5,000 shows. They incorporate a mix of pop, punk and a little bit of metal into their music. They have sold 20 million albums and produced 20 soundtracks. They also have 40 gold or platinum records to hang on their wall. Today they are still going strong as they are the lead song for Comedy Central Colbert Report. One of their timeless classics is the song, “I Want You To Want Me”.

August 1-3 in Chicago will once again be a busy time for the music scene as Lollapalooza is scheduled to take place and the lineup has been announced. Some of the headlining names include; Radiohead, Kanye West, Rage Against the Machine, and Nine Inch Nails. The Early bird 3-day passes have already been sold out. On sale right now for $190 is the advanced 3-day pass and when that sells out the Regular 3-day pass will go on sale for $205.
Lollapalooza was started in 1991 by Farrell and traveled around the country until 1997. From 1997 Until 2003 Lollapalooza disappeared. It has now made Chicago home until at least 2011.
