Describe Some Of The Early Iggy And The Stooges Concerts

What You Can Do With Knives, Peanut Butter And Blood
The early Stooges concerts were infamous for their bloodiness and unpredictability. Iggy would contort his body in dangerous ways on stage. From time to time, Iggy would launch himself into the audience. He would antagonize and instigate a crowd in almost every early Stooges performance. On occasion, he would cut himself on stage with knives and broken glass. Furthermore, at one concert, Iggy was handed a can of peanut butter, which he spread all over his chest. Iggy Pop was infamously known for not wearing a shirt while he performed live.

The Tradition Carries On
To this day, Iggy Pop is still a rambunctious and wild live performer. Back in the early days of the Stooges, Iggy’s antics got him into a lot of trouble. At one concert, a gang of Hell’s angels knocked Iggy Pop unconscious during the end of the performance. This show has been recorded and released on live CD. Overall, Iggy Pop is said to be one of the greatest live performers of all time. James Brown, Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison and Mick Jagger influenced him tremendously.
