Phish Three Day Festival Will Live Again

This year has been a good year for one of the most loved jam bands. They have come back after five years and will release a new albumin on July 28, they just finished a leg of their tour and now they have announced that they will be bringing back their 3 day festival. On a banner on the bands website it says, “ Save the Date: A 3-Day Festival 10/30, 10/31, 11/01.”
No official word has been released on the location but two have been speculated. First is Empire Polo Grounds in Indio, CA and the second is a 700 acre farm in Manchester, TN. These two locations hold the biggest music festivals every year including Bonnaroo Music Festival, Coachella and Stagecoach.
Phish will begin a second leg of its tour in Morrison, CO on July 30-31. The upcoming album will be the band 14th studio album. Singles from the album have been debuted at different cities along the tour.
New Orleans Welcomes Back the Voodoo Experience Over Halloween

New Orleans will play host to the 11th annual Voodoo Experience this upcoming October 30 - November 1. Headlining this years event include, Eminem, KISS, Jane’s Addiction, Widespread Panic and Flaming Lips.
The 3 day event will feature over 150 different bands in Cresent City’s City Park. Right now you can get a 3 day pass for $169.
This will be the first live appearance for Eminem in over four years and will be the only one for this year. Some of the other groups who will appear include: Justice, Gogol Bordello, Wolfmother, Eagles of Death Metal, The Black Keys, The Pogues, Ween and Silversun Pickups, Meat Puppets, Q-Tip, Black Lips, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, JJ Grey & Mofro, Alejandro Escovedo, Shooter Jennings, Drive-By Truckers and many more.
2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival Posts Attendance Gains

The 2009 Bonnaroo Music Festival which was held this past weekend in Manchester, TN was deemed a success as it broke last years attendance by attracting 75,000 - 80,000 attendees. Last years totals were around 70,000. Even though they did not sell out the event festival promoters Superfly Presents and A.C. Entertainment were happy with the results.
“Considering the current economic situation, we feel incredibly fortunate to be in this position,” said Superfly’s Rick Farman in a recent statement. “We don’t take anything for granted.”
The Bonaroo festival showcased over 140 bands and 21 comic performers.
In the early years of the festival they seemed to attract mostly jam bands, but things have become must more diverse with groups such as Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band and Phish who both played for over 3 hours this year.
A few of the other highlighted acts to this years event were Nine Inch Nails, David Byrne, Public Enemy, TV on the Radio, Al Green, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Snoop Dogg, the Beastie Boys, Merle Haggard. Wilco, King Sunny Ade, Lucinda Willams and last minute addition Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band.
West Beach Music & Arts Festival Planned For September

On September 18-20 the University of California in Santa Barbara, CA will be home to the third annual West Beach Music & Arts Festival. Featured performers this year will include, G. Love & Special Sauce, Steel Pulse and Pepper.
The event is promoted as being the countries only beach festival. A few three day passes are currently onsale for $75 while single day tickets will soon be available to the public.
“It’s amazing how much growth the festival experienced this past year from 1,500 attendees in its first year to more than 20,000 attendees in its second year, but it’s not stopping there,” Twiin Production’s Jeremy Pemberton said in a recent statement. “This year the collaborations we have made with other organizations within the community have really set us up for an even stronger festival.”
Last years festival featured Ziggy Marley, Jason Mraz, Natasha Bedingfield and George Clinton& Parliament Funkadelic.
Tool Will Return With Headlining Tour Dates

Recently the members on metal band tool have been spending time focusing on other solo side projects. They have now announced that they will headline a short tour this summer as well as play at several music festivals. Fans are hoping that this could be the sign of an upcoming fifth studio album.
As of today only ten shows have been announced. They will kick things off with the Mile High Music Festival on July 18 in Commerce City, CO and will end up at All Points West in Jersey City, NJ on August 1.
One of the bigger events on the lineup include a headlining show at this years Lollapolooza Festival in Chicago, IL from August 7-9. More shows are planning to be added to the schedule in the coming weeks.
No offical announcement has been made but reportedly the group has been working on new material since the begining of the year. Leadman Maynard James Keenan told MTV News in February, “We’re going to start writing the new Tool record right away.”

If you are planning on attending the 8th annual Bonnaroo Music Festival this year from June 11-14 in Manchester, TN you are in for quite the time. The lineup has been announced and some of the headliners and major acts include: Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, David Byrne, Snoop Dogg, Elvis Costello, Erykah Badu.
This 4 day event will showcase over 120 bands and 20 comedians. Bonnaroo is the only US music festival that takes place around the clock. For 4 straight days there is always something going on. They feature a cinema festival, comedy theater, jazz club, arcade, Internet cafés, restaurants, yoga classes and hundreds of craft vendors.
Because our economy is in such bad shape Bonnaroo has developed a layaway program for there tickets. Fans are going to be allowed to pay in 5 payments of $50 each so they don’t have to fork over the full amount for the 4 day ticket.
So are you not able to make it to Tennessee for this years event? Not to worry as part of a 3 year contract Fuse TV will be broadcasting the event on national television. It will include on air coverage and also OnDemand content that will show backstage interviews.
