Google Android Ticketing App Launched by ShowClix
PITTSBURGH, PA (ShowClix) January 27, 2010 – ShowClix (www.showclix.com) - a full-service ticketing company that provides web-based solutions to event organizers, promoters and venue managers - today introduced ShowClix Axess, an application created for the Google Android operating system that transforms Android-powered devices, including Google Nexus One, Motorola Droid and HTC myTouch, into barcode ticket scanners. While Axess runs on most Android-powered devices with an autofocus camera, ShowClix is providing its ticketing clients with Axess-ready, Nexus One devices exclusively.
“Axess is the product of years of frustration with the existing barcode scanning options that have been available to our clients. The introduction of Axess and our new ticket scanners carries the innovation of our web-based platform to the door of the venue,” says ShowClix CEO Joshua Dziabiak. “Our new ticket scanners aren’t just easy-to-use and affordable, they’re also packed with features that give our clients more flexibility and control over the way they admit ticket buyers into their events. Venues and event promoters finally have a better option when it comes to barcode scanning.”
Android-powered devices provisioned with ShowClix Axess can verify tickets online in real-time by connecting to any wi-fi or cellular network. If a wi-fi or cellular network is not available, or the device loses connection to a network, users can continue to scan and verify tickets offline. Multiple ticket scanners running Axess can be used at several check-in points at a venue without having to be networked. In less than two seconds per scan, the devices can read both 1D and 2D barcodes appearing on thermal tickets, print-at-home e-tickets or mobile tickets. In addition to quickly scanning tickets for entry into an event, Axess scanners also provide users with a “checkout mode” that allows them to scan tickets in and out of an event for re-entry. Axess devices also include search functionality that lets users obtain detailed customer information directly from the ticket scanner. Customer information can be retrieved through the application’s voice recognition search feature or by manually inputting details such as the customer name, confirmation ID or barcode number.
Joker Productions (www.jokerprod.com), a Pittsburgh-based production company that has been booking and promoting concerts since 1989, was one of the first companies to use the new Axess-powered, Nexus One ticket scanner. “The scanner has worked very well,” says Joker Productions Founder Jon Rinaldo. “We’ve even had a number of customers comment on how cool and cutting edge the scanner is. I’m happy to be partnered with a company like ShowClix. Not only are they helping my company stay ahead of the curve, but they’re developing tools that help out the ticketing and concert industries as a whole.”
In conjunction with the launch of Axess, ShowClix is giving away two free Axess-powered, Nexus One ticket scanners to the first five qualified venues or event promoters that enter into an exclusive ticketing agreement with ShowClix. To learn more about the ticket scanner giveaway, or the ShowClix Axess Android application, visit www.showclix.com/axess or contact Lynsie Camuso atlynsie@showclix.com or 724.653.6903 ext. 301.

Utah Jazz and STR Marketplace Enter Into a Partnership
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (Utah Jazz) January 21, 2010 - The Utah Jazz are proud to be the first team in the NBA to provide an online service which allows season ticket holders the ability to sell and transfer the “renewal rights” to their seat locations to interested buyers. This new service provides fans the opportunity to become a season ticket holder in sold-out seating areas that are not available directly from the Utah Jazz.
“We are excited to offer this new online service where Utah Jazz fans can buy and sell the renewal rights to seat locations in a safe and easy manner,” said Jim Olson, Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. “We are very proud to be the first team in the NBA to offer this online service to our fans.”
“We are proud to expand upon our successful partnerships in the NFL, MLB, and motorsports by announcing the Utah Jazz as our first partner in the NBA,” said Kyle Burks, President of STR Marketplace. “By allowing transfers of Non-PSL seat locations, the Utah Jazz have created an entirely new revenue stream that will provide a service to their fans and increase season ticket renewals.”
Once a seat location is transferred, the purchaser becomes the new account holder of record and will receive all future invoices and correspondence for the season tickets, playoff tickets and other available tickets for that specific seat location directly from the Utah Jazz. The previous account holder will no longer have any “renewal rights” to that seat location.
Benefits of the Utah Jazz Transfer Marketplace:
-Post and sell the “renewal rights” to your seat location at no upfront cost.
-View and purchase the “renewal rights” to a seat location from a current season ticket holder.
-Upgrade by selling your current seat location and purchasing a new seat location.

LONDON, ENG (Seatwave) 20 January 2010 – The third annual review of live entertainment ticket sales from Seatwave, Europe’s largest ticket marketplace (1.4 million unique visitors - comScore, July 2009), revealed that this was the year that Britons turned to live entertainment as an antidote to the country’s financial woes. With stadium music and comedy tours continuing to be the top attractions, the volume of live entertainment tickets being exchanged on the Seatwave site increased by 87% on 2008.
U2’s 360o tour was the top grossing event of 2009, with over 40,000 fans from 100 countries buying tickets on the site. AC/DC, Coldplay and Take That also made the grade in 2009 featuring in Seatwave’s Top 10 grossing events list. In the world of comedy, Peter Kay fans had the last laugh as demand for tickets for his 2009 gigs sent him to the top of the stand-up chart with veteran Billy Connolly a close second place.
In sport, the number of tickets sold on the site rose by a staggering 95% on last year’s sales. Cricket was the sport of 2009. The Twenty20 World Cup and the Ashes proved the hottest sports tickets in town as England’s victory over Australia sent demand for tickets soaring. And on the West End stage, Rowan Atkinson and Griff Rhys Jones wowed the crowds as Fagin in Oliver, taking the show to number one in the Top 10 theatre productions chart.
Joe Cohen, CEO and Founder of Seatwave said:
“2009 has been an astonishing year in the live entertainment industry and an increasing number of fans turned to Seatwave for the flexibility, transparency and choice that our site provides. In the last year we’ve seen some amazing bands and artists take to the stage, some for the first time and others who we didn’t expect to see again.”
“We expect more of the same in 2010. With exciting tours and sporting events already on the live entertainment calendar, the ones to watch are the next leg of the U2 Tour and the rumoured return of Robbie Williams who will be keen to emulate the 2009 success of his old Take That band mates.”

Flash Seats Digital Tickets Hit 2 Million at Veritix
Cleveland, OH (Veritix) January 11, 2010 - Veritix, the state of the art digital ticketing, event marketing and relationship management technology company, said today it has processed 2 million paperless tickets since its launch. In addition, it has facilitated the transfer of more than 800,000 tickets.
Electronic ticketing has generated over $500,000 in new revenue for Veritix NBA clients, generated from secondary ticket market fees in just the first two months of the season. Veritix is the ticketing industry’s only company providing a patented integrated electronic ticket marketplace allowing for the safe and secure transfer and resale of tickets in a team, artist or venue-branded marketplace. The company’s patented Flash Seats® technology has several unique advantages, providing:
-fans the only secure online method for transferring or reselling tickets;
-invaluable marketing information used by the teams, venues or artists to extend and enhance the lifeline to their fans;
-additional revenue opportunities for teams, venues or artists by enabling secondary ticket sales on their own branded Web sites;
-the ticketing industry’s most convenient paperless entry system, as all ticket holders in a group do not have to enter a venue at the same time.
Veritix is providing full digital ticketing services to major venues across the U.S., including Quicken Loans Arena (Cleveland), Toyota Center (Houston), Energy Solutions Arena (Salt Lake City), Pepsi Center (Denver), Dick’s Sporting Good Park (Denver), and Paramount Theatre (Denver); four National Basketball Association teams, including the Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz and Cleveland Cavaliers; the National Hockey League’s Colorado Avalanche; the American Hockey League’s Lake Erie Monsters and Houston Aeros and Major League Soccer’s Real Salt Lake and Colorado Rapids.
In the first two months of the National Basketball Association season, Veritix has helped the Cleveland Cavaliers sell more than $2 million in paperless tickets on the secondary market.
“Veritix digital ticketing technology has been a significant asset for us this year,” said Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena President Len Komoroski. “Fans are first with us and with Veritix and Flash Seats we’ve been able to provide a greater convenience for our fans and help strengthen our relationships with them, while also driving additional revenue from the secondary ticket market. As paperless ticketing and marketing intelligence become critical to realizing our full business potential, we’re more and more excited about the important role Veritix and Flash Seats play in all of our sales and marketing efforts.”
Veritix Digital Ticketing – which is enabled by the exclusive Flash Seats® technology - grants ticket buyers the unique opportunity to eliminate traditional hard tickets, and select a convenient form of ID that they already carry with them, such as a driver’s license or credit card, as their method of entry to a given event. Those same customers can then manage their tickets electronically – either online, or with the help of a trained Veritix call center agent – enabling secure and instantaneous ticket re-sales and transfers. As a result, teams, artists and venues have visibility into every stage of the ticket lifecycle.
“Veritix digital ticketing is proving to be an excellent source of additional revenue for sports teams, artists and entertainment venues,” said Jeff Kline, president of Veritix. “The challenging economy is forcing sports and entertainment organizations to come up with innovative solutions to generate revenue, improve the customer experience and enhance marketing programs. Our experience with a variety of sports and entertainment organizations is proving Veritix to be a hit in all these areas.”
A key advantage provided by Veritix is the ability for artists, teams and venues to create secondary ticket marketplaces on their own Websites, allowing them to capture additional revenue by enabling the convenient resale or transfer of tickets for their fans. By creating and managing their own secondary ticket markets, teams, artists and venues are able to track who ultimately uses the tickets, helping them develop marketing and sales opportunities in the future.
About Veritix
Veritix provides the most dynamic digital ticketing, event marketing, and relationship management applications to artists, professional sports teams, Universities, arts organizations, and entertainment venues. Veritix’s Flash Seats® digital ticketing technology has revolutionized the sports and live entertainment industry by enabling paperless venue access while allowing artists, team owners, and venue operators to regain control of their secondary market. The Veritix ticket and event marketing solutions offer clients and partners an integrated primary and secondary ticketing platform to manage their entire ticket inventory, and create rich behavioral profiles on past and potential ticket buyers.
