Barbra Streisand Will Play At Obama Benefit
Barbra Streisand has announced that she will play at a benefit for Barack Obama on September 16 at the Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills. The event will most likely be the final fundraiser before the election in November.
There will be approximately 700 people in attendance with a ticket price of $2500.
Steisand who has been a very vocal democratic supporter over the years also performed at fundraisers for John Kerry and Al Gore before the previous two elections.
In a recent statement on her website Streisand gave her opinion on John McCain’s choice in Gov. Sarah Palin to be his vice presidential running mate.
“I believe John McCain chose Gov. Palin because he truly believes that women who supported Hillary — an experienced, brilliant, life-long public servant — would vote for him because his Vice President has two x chromosomes,” Steisand said in the statement. “McCain’s selection of Governor Palin is a transparent and irresponsible decision all in the name of trying to win this election.”
