Cardinals Vs. Steelers Super Bowl Tickets See Slow Sales

Super Bowl

The Arizona Cardinals have not won a championship game in 61 years.  The only team in the four major sports who have a longer drought are the beloved Chicago Cubs.  Even with this fans are not stepping up to buy super bowl tickets fast out of the gate.

Compared to historical trends tickets for Super Bowl XLIII are sellign slower than normal.  Part of the reason could be that the Pittsburgh Steelers are already 7 point favorites by Vegas Sportsbook.  Tickets on secondary ticket sites such as UltimateTicketHub.com have tickets selling for between $1,699 and $6,500.

New York Yankees Practically Giving Away Preseason Tickets

New York Yankees

With the new Yankee stadium getting ready to open for the 2009 baseball season the organization is planning on rolling back prices on a few exhibition games to the levels in 1923.  This is going to be very attractive to ticket brokers who make a living off of reselling tickets.  On the other hand if the yankees do this for too long they will have to look for other means to be able to pay the highest salaried team in baseball.

The rollback to 1923 is to celebrate the opening of the original Yankee Stadium. Rollback prices will only be for certain seats in the two preseason games against the Chicago Cubs.  Bleacher sears will be selling for $0.25 and grandstand seats for $1.10.

Tickets will be so much cheaper although the plan may result in two things. One is that it will benefits the city and its people. The other result could seriously harm the financial aspects of the Yankee management.  Ticket brokers won’t need investools to know that this is the perfect time to invest on a lot of exhibition tickets.

Season ticket holders will receive their tickets to the two preseason games at no cost.  ”To express our gratitude toward our full-season ticket licensees, we are offering tickets for these two exhibition games at no cost to them,” said Yankees chief operating officer Lonn Trost. “The balance of tickets will be sold first to our partial-plan holders, then to the general public, at vastly reduced rates compared to the regular season. Using such a pricing model for these games allows us to thank our fans for their continued loyalty and introduce them to baseball’s new grand cathedral.”

Arena Football Cancels 2009 Season

By admin On December 16, 2008 No Comments

Arena Football League

The United States recession has made it’s first violent hit this week.  The front office of the Arena Football League has announced that they will be canceling the entire 2009 season.  They do however plan to be back in 2010.

“Every owner in the AFL is strongly committed to the League, the game, and, most importantly, the fans,” Acting Commissioner Ed Policy said. “Owners, however, recognize that, especially in light of the current unprecedented economic climate, the AFL, as a business enterprise, needs to be restructured if it is to continue to provide its unique brand of this affordable, fan-friendly sport.”

Reports have been circulating that the 22 year old league has been on hard times for a few years now.  They had even been thinking about doing away with a couple of the 16 teams.  ESPN who brodcasts AFL games has said they have no interest in a league with fewer than 16 teams.
