Britney Spears Announces Tour Dates For 2009 Tour

As reports a few weeks ago Britney Spears has been planning a tour for 2009 and she has finally released the dates and tickets are now on sale.  The past year has been full of up and downs for Spears but she is now trying to put all of that behind her.  Her new album, “circus,” was released today.  The “Circus” tour will open up on March 3 in New Orleans and will run until April 28 in Rosemont at Allstate Arena.  The tour will include a total of 27 shows.  The North American leg will include opening act The Pussycat Dolls.

To follow along with the theme of her album each of the arena stops will be performed in a circus like manner.

Il Divo Announces Spring 2009 Tour Dates

Classical music group, Il Divo has announced plans of a 2009 world tour that will incorporate 18 show across Canada and the US.  Only 6 shows have been confirmed for the US as of today.  The tour will North American leg will begin on April 28 in Halifax, NS and continue through May 31 in Victoria, BC.  The US stops currently are in Chicago, Washington DC area, Boston, East Rutherford, Philadelphia and Uniondale, NY.

This will be the first tour under the new deal with Live Nation and will be promoting their sixth album titled, “The Promise” that was released on November 18.  The album sold over 160,000 copies in its first week and debuted at #4 on the Billboard top 200 chart.

This Opera/Pop group was formed by American Idol judge simon Cowell and is comprised of 4 singers from around the world.  They come from France, Spain, Switzerland and the US.

Nickelback Will Tour For First Time Under Live Nation Deal

Nickelback have announced plans for their first tour since signing a deal with music promoters Live Nation.  The North American leg will begin in Nashville, TN on February 25 and wrap up Columbia, SC on April 23.  Nickelback has scheduled 28 tour dates that will have rock groups Seether and Saving Abel opening.

The upcoming tour will be in support of their recent November album release of, “Dark Horse.”  This album was with recording company Roadrunner Records.  Nickelback has one more album on their contract with them before they will start releasing albums under live nation.

Nickelback is reported to have signed their Live Nation deal for anywhere from $50 Million to $70 Million.  The deal includes 3 albums and tours with the option of a fourth.

“Dark Horse” was the groups sixth album and has already reached number 2 on the Billboard top 200 chart.  In 2005 they released 7 times platinum album, “All The Right Reasons.”

No Doubt Will Tour and Record New Album in 2009

After a few years of venturing on the solo route, Gwen Stefani and the rest of No Doubt have announced they will reunite for a tour in 2009 as they put together their first group album in seven years.  No specific details have been released yet on when in 2009 of the cities to be played but make sure you stay tuned.

The group has been in the studio thoughout 2008 and recently Stefani had this to say, “I think we should go out now. I don’t think we should wait. Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again.”

The group has not played together since 2004 and have not had an album released since 2000.  During that time Stefani has released two award winning albums.

Hinder Out On Tour, Next Up Tour Dates Will Motley Crue

Alternative rockers Hinder are currently out on tour headlining the Jagermeister Music Tour.  The tour will continue until just before christmas.  After that is wrapped up they will set out with Legendary rockers Motley Crue beginning February 2 in San Diego, CA.  Hinder is currently promoting there latest album release, “Take It To The Limit,” which was released on November 4.

Willie Nelson Making Plans For 2009 Tour Dates

Willie Nelson is getting ready to head out on his final 2008 gigs but he has already scheduled tour dates for early 2009.  The country music star will begin 2009 with shows on January 9-10 in West Wendover, NV and play through February 19 in Boone, NC.  More dates could be added later.

Nelson most recently released a duet album with Wynton Marsalis titled, “Two Men With The Blues.”  The album went as high as #20 on the Billboard top 200 and got to #1 on the Jazz charts.

The Eagles To Extend Tour Though January 2009

On tour since May of 2008, The Eagles have decided to extend it a little bit further by adding 12 shows in January.  The new leg of the “Long Road” tour will get jump started in January 12 in Hampton, VA and go through January 31 in Orlando, FL.

The group has been supporting the first album release in 28 years, “The Long Road Out Of Eden.”  The Current leg of their tour had 9 shows left and ends on December 1 in Houston.  The band plans on taking a bit of a rest for the holidays before regrouping.

John Legend Releases Dates For Second Leg Of Current Tour

Currently getting ready for the first leg of his North American tour, John Legend has announce tour dates for his second leg that will being in January 2009.  The first leg will begin on November 19 in Minneapolis, MN and extend until December 13 in Durham, NC.

The second leg of the tour will kick off in Oakland, CA on January 12 and finish on February 7 in Atlantic City, NJ.  

The opener for the first leg is scheduled to be Raphael Saadiq while Estelle is the planned opener in 2009.  Estelle just recently wrapped up her supporting role on the Roots, Gym Class Heros tour this fall.  

Legend released his third studio album on October 28 and it has already made it to #4 on the Billboard Top 200 chart along with the top spot in the Rap & Hip-Hop chart.

Rascal Flatts Announces Tour Dates For 2009 Bob Your Head Tour

Just weeks ago Rascal Flatts wrapped up the 2008 slate of their “Bob Your Head” tour and they have announced tour dates for a 2009 second leg.  The group will reconvene on January 17 in Kansas City, MO and run through March 14 in Irvine, CA.  As of today a total of 20 dates have been scheduled, but it is expected that another 5 will be added.

Rascal Flatts is supporting their most recent album release, double platinum selling “Still Feels Good,” which was released in September 2007.  The group, who is one of the most traveled group in country music has played over 70 shows in 2008.  

In a recent statement, Rascal Flatts announced that Jessica Simpson will be the opening act for the 2009 leg of the tour.  Simpson who has been known as more of a pop singing has recently made the switch to county and released her first country album this fall titled, “Do You Know.”  The album quickly gained popularity and reached #1 on the country chart and #4 on the Billboard Top 200.

My Morning Jacket Plans 2008/2009 Tour

To promote the upcoming album titled, “Evil Urges,” My Morning Jacket will set out on a tour in the US, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan.  Stops in the US are limited with shows at the Chicago Theater in Chicago, IL and Madison Square Garden in New York City on New Years Eve.  

The upcoming album will be the groups 5th studio album and the first since the 2005 release of “Z.”
