Chickenfoot Adds West Coast Tour Dates
After originally scheduling mostly east coast stops for there upcoming tour, Chickenfoot has announced a handful of shows for west of the Mississippi. The newly added shows will begin on September 12 in Grand Rapids, CO at the Jam Rocks Festival and they will play until a September 26 show in Valley Center, CA at Open Sky Theatre.
The group Chickenfoot is made up of legendary rockers Sammy Hagar from Van Halen and then Joe Satriani, Anthony Michaels and Chad Smith. This will be the groups first tour and ticket sales have been great for the small venue shows.
“If we have a choice of arenas or [multiple shows] in the theater, we’ll take the theater,” Satriani said to Billboard about the band’s booking choices. “It seems like an important thing to do, otherwise we look like your typical supergroup, where famous people get together and play the biggest venues and then get out of town, and we don’t like that approach. So since no one’s really in it for the money, we don’t have to sort of do that smash-and-grab mentality.”
