George Strait Will Kick Off The New Cowboys Stadium
One of country musics greatest stars, George Strait, will kick off the opening of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium on June 6. Straight holds the record for most #1 hits by a country musician. Strait will be joined on stage by Reba McEntire, Blake Shelton, and Julianne Houge.
“George Strait is one of the most successful and prolific country music artists of all time,” said Jerry Jones, owner and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, in a recent statement. “We wanted one of the greatest entertainers in the world to open what we believe is going to be one of the greatest sports and entertainment venue in the world.”
The new $1.1 Billion stadium Cowboys Stadium will hold several big events in the coming years including the AT&T Cotton Bowl, the 2010 NBA All-Star game, the 2011 Super Bowl and the 2014 NCAA Final Four.
