Kenny Chesney Kenny Chesney, who is one of musics most popular names, has decided that he will put his annual summer concert tours on hold.  Chesney’s summer long tours have been one of the most popular and most profitable over the last decade.  In a recent Entertainment Weekly article Chesney explained that he will put things on hold for awhile.

“My energy level right now is as good as it’s been at the end of a tour in years,” Chesney said in the article. “But I know deep down in my heart of hearts that for me to keep giving like I have to what this has grown into, and more importantly, to give the fans what they deserve every night, I’ve got to step away from it for a second.”

Many people in the ticket industry are already starting to talk about how this could severely cripple business.

“At a time when ticket sales across the board are slack, ours have held strong this year. As far as an industry impact, I see that it will have an effect, but — I don’t know,” Chesney explained. “You just can’t worry about the business. I’m worried about burning myself out.”

On the bright side for the secondary ticket market this year long break could lead to higher demand and higher prices once Chesney hits the road again.

Chesney is currently on the road for his Sun City Carnival tour which has one more show on September 19 in Indianapolis, IN at Lucus Oil Stadium.
