Panic at the Disco Plans Tour Even While They Begin to Split
Panic at the Disco informed its fans of something they never wanted to hear. Lead guitarist Ryan Ross and bassist Jon Walker are leaving the band.
“Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we’ve creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve,” the two members said in a statement. “Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realize that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us.”
Ross joined the group when it was founded in 2004 and Walker joined in 2006. Ross had been the mains main lyricist. The cause of the split is said to be because of creative differences. The two departing members will continue to play together. The remaining two members, lead singer Brendon Urie and drummer Spencer Smith will continue to play with the Panic at the Disco name.
Even with this split the band will continue with its already announced tour in which it will offer support to the Blink 182 reunion tour and also add a few dates with No Doubt.
Urie and Smith simply explained, “We know everybody has a lot of questions at this point with everything being so out of the blue, most of those should be answered in the coming weeks.”
They have assured fans that the band is still very much alive and you can expect to see new work coming out very soon.
