Paul McCartney To Play The Intial Music Show at Citi Field
Celebrating 40 years since The Beatles played in Flushings, NY at Shea Stadium, Paul McCartney will return to play the first show at the new Citi Field according to multiple sources. The scheduled shows will be on July 17-18. No official announcement has been made but it is expected within the next couple of weeks. There is also a possibility of a third show being added on July 21.
This is the first year for the new Citi Field after Shea Stadium was replaced. Many great rock and rollers graced the stage at Shea Stdium including, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, Jethro Tull, Grand Funk Railroad, The Who, Simon & Garfunkel, The Police and Elton John & Eric Clapton. Billy Joel Played the final show there last fall.
